Am I annoyed that we just had a 26° hard frost a couple of days ago, and here I am, being forced to harvest a whole bunch of choys, Asian cabbage and spinach early because they’re bolting from the heat? Nope! Because I reminded myself how far ahead of last year I am. I’m already not buying green vegetables, because this is not even close to my first harvest, and it’s June 14. The second picture is of last year‘s very first harvest only a few days earlier on June 10. Hooray for learning and improving! I’ve done very little this year and last that felt accomplishmenty. I joke that gardening is my only hobby, but that’s really not even a joke. But one thing I have done is some language learning every single day of 2020 and 2021. A lot of it has been on Duolingo, hence this streak, but also audiobooks, podcasts, a little bit of written stuff. Expanding my language skills is something I hope I always do.
